What does Luke 12:30 mean?

Jesus is teaching his disciples during his ministry in Galilee. He has just warned them against covetousness by telling the parable of the rich man who stored up goods only to lose his life. Following this, he instructs them not to worry about their daily needs, such as food and clothing, pointing to the birds and flowers as evidence of God's provision. In chapter 12, verse 30, Jesus contrasts the anxious striving of the nations of the world with the assurance that God is already aware of his followers' needs.
